SPS courses themselves do not qualify students to receive Federal or State financial aid. However, any SPS course taken as part of a current CUNY student's course load at another CUNY college will count toward meeting financial aid requirements if the student is taking the SPS course on permit. For example, if a student is taking three three-credit courses (for a total of nine credits) at his or her home college, taking a three-credit SPS course on permit in the same semester will increase the student's course load to twelve credits, qualifying the student for full-time financial aid (assuming that all other financial aid requirements are met).
More information about taking courses on permit.
AmeriCorps, CSEA and NYS Partnership Vouchers are accepted toward all appropriate educational expenses incurred at SPS. Vouchers should be submitted at the time of course registration to the SPS Coordinator of Student Services.
Eligible students enrolled in certificate programs may also cover their SPS expenses using Veteran's Benefits.
