Mindfulness and Adult Learners: Implications for Practice
Rooted in ancient wisdom traditions, the secular practice of mindfulness in contemporary society is influencing fields as diverse as medicine, counseling, law and education.
Join us for a discussion, Mindfulness and Adult Learners: Implications for Practice on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 6:00pm. CUNY instructor, Susan Fountain will discuss what it means to be "mindful" in teaching adult learners.
Along with insights from research on mindful approaches to teaching and learning we'll discuss:
- Is mindfulness a set of specific practices, or a way of being in the classroom?
- What does it mean to be fully "present" in the classroom?
- Can mindfulness influence what, and how, adults learn?
There will be time for participants to share ways in which they approach bringing mindfulness to the classroom.
Date: Monday, June 3, 2013
Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
