Dear SPS Alumni:
Welcome. You are part of a distinguished community of graduates of the City University of New York, and we are glad that you have chosen to pay us a virtual visit!
As SPS alumni, you are an important part of our community. Your ideas and opinions are of great interest and help to our school, and we invite you to stay involved and stay connected to SPS through our alumni sponsored events, programs, and scholarships, and through participation in the Alumni Advisory Council. Being a member of the SPS community affords you many opportunities for continued growth, networking, and development, and we hope that you will continue to remain involved.
I also want to take this opportunity to introduce you to our new Director of Alumni Relations and Development, Halima Leak. Halima joins us with over 10 years of experience in alumni relations, development, and volunteer management, and has provided programming and fundraising leadership for organizations and educational institutions such as Communities in Schools, INROADS, Barnard College of Columbia University, and New York University. In addition to her professional experience, Halima is also a doctoral candidate in New York University’s higher education program, and her research interests include Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), diversity in philanthropy, and issues of race and gender in higher education. She can be reached at halima.leak@mail.cuny.edu/212-817-7275. Halima is excited to have the opportunity to work with such a talented and dynamic group of alumni and looks forward to seeing you at all of our upcoming programs and events.
We hope you will remain in touch with us to share news of your continued academic, personal, and professional success. Be sure to read the Alumni Connect e-bulletin each month for SPS news and other information, and visit this website often to stay up-to-date with current happenings. If you have any questions or would like more information about how to get involved, please contact Halima.
Since our founding in 2003, the CUNY School of Professional Studies has experienced great success, and that success is due, in no small part, to the quality our students. Our diverse and dedicated students not only contribute to our school but to their communities and to the city we share. For that, and for your continued commitment to SPS as alumni, I thank you.
Because you are SPS alumni, you know first-hand the impact of the education we provide. As we look to the future of SPS, I hope you will not only continue to be involved, but that you will contribute in support of CUNY’s School of Professional Studies this year. Your donation will allow us to continue to develop new degree, certificate, and training programs; attract and support a diverse student body; recruit and retain exceptional faculty; and provide student scholarships.
You may make a gift online at http://www.paybill.com/cuny/spsfoundation, or simply click on the Make a Gift link below. Know that your gift of any amount helps SPS in its mission to help students achieve their educational goals, and we are most grateful for your ongoing support.
Again, I congratulate you on your achievements at SPS, and thank you for being a part of our alumni community.
